Gemma is a Chartered Psychologist and Registered Clinical Psychologist. She specialises in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and is BABCP accredited. Additionally, she has training in various other evidence based therapies including Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). She incorporates aspects of these therapies into her sessions.

Gemma will work with you to help overcome your phobia, panic, anxiety or low mood. She can also help you with worrying, trauma and low self esteem. She is able to provide you with a confidential, non-judgemental, uninterrupted space to make sense of things.

It can be daunting to begin therapy. Gemma aims to help you feel at ease and safe and to provide a warm and trusting relationship. However, therapy is often hard work. If change was easy, you would have already done it. Sometimes, in order to break unhelpful patterns, you may need to do something a little challenging. Gemma’s style tends to be down to earth and sessions sometimes include humour where appropriate.

Gemma has worked in a variety of NHS settings in Norfolk and London. She also regularly teaches in the UK as well as internationally and has held academic positions on the UEA Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology. She has over 20 years experiences in health services and is registered with many health insurance companies.
